A field guide for the table.
Clear explanations, carefully scoped examples, and a route back to the source.
What this site covers
Commander Notes is an independent guide to Mystery Booster Commander Edition. It focuses on the rules changes, deckbuilding questions, and format distinctions that can be difficult to piece together across announcements.
How to use these notes
Start with the overview, then follow the guide for your question. Each guide identifies official references and a review date. Card text, release dates, and format rules can change; follow those references when preparing for a later event.
The site is not an official rules authority or an exhaustive card database. For an organized event, ask the organizer or judge to settle a disputed interaction.
Sources and attribution
Rules summaries are based on public Wizards of the Coast publications. Product names, the official booster-box image, and card images identify the subject of the guide; they do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Review history
- — Rechecked the September 25 Comprehensive Rules against the announced October changes; corrected the distinction between commander identity and deck permissions. Added sourced Tetzin, unusual-card, mana, four-player draft and legality examples. Printed Tolabow artwork remains labeled as outdated.
Review dates reflect editorial checks, not automatic page rebuilds. Our explanations summarize the cited rules; the linked official publications remain the source for later updates.
